The Merchant's House
The house (at 132 High Street) was home to 17th Century silk merchant. It provides an insight into the lifestyle and interests of a middle-class family during a century when modern Britain—an outward looking, emerging capitalist country and one with a maturing political life—was coming into being.

Marlborough shopping

Listings

Marlborough has a reputation for being a serious place to shop. You'll find many of the big name chains here, plus there's an extensive choice of highly individual shops selling all kinds of stuff. In fact it's no exaggeration to say that Marlborough punches way above its weight, certainly as far as clothing and fashion accessories are concerned.

Elegant, unique and proprietor-managed boutique establishments are thick on the ground on both sides of the High Street and off it. Most of the high street fashion chains — Jigsaw, Dorothy Perkins, Monsoon, Dash, Crew, Phase Eight, White Stuff etc — are here as well.

But of course there's more to life and fashion than clothes. Marlborough also has a excellent choice of jewellers, gift shops, hairdressers and beauticians.

To sum up, Marlborough's shopping is up there with the best that any town of comparable size in the UK has to offer.

And when you contact any of the businesses on this website, please mention that you found them through www.marlboroughwiltshire.co.uk. Thank you.

(There isn't a Tourist Information Centre in Marlborough, but you should be able to find all you need to know about the town on this website.)

Welcome to Marlborough!
