The Merchant's House
The house (at 132 High Street) was home to 17th Century silk merchant. It provides an insight into the lifestyle and interests of a middle-class family during a century when modern Britain—an outward looking, emerging capitalist country and one with a maturing political life—was coming into being.

Marlborough Mop Fair
Once a year, every year in October a fun fair takes over Marlborough High Street for most of Friday and all of Saturday. The fairs are held on the closest Saturdays to St Michaelmas Day, which falls on October 11. If however St Michaelmas Day is a Saturday, the fairs are held two weeks apart. The fair, which is known as the ‘Marlborough Mop Fair’, is allowed to use the town centre thanks to an 800-year-old statute which can only be reprieved by an Act of Parliament.
Marlborough Open Studios
In the first four weekends of July, local artists throw open their studios (in and around Marlborough) giving visitors the opportunity to meet the artists, discuss techniques and perhaps discuss a commission or purchase an existing work.
Marlborough College Summer School
A wide choice of weekly courses for adults and young people in the idyllic setting of one of England's most beautiful and prestigious independent schools. Courses run from Monday until Friday each week, for three weeks in July and August.
